Cambridge's first Barcamp - an 'unconference' (BarCamb see http://www.barcamp.org/BarCamb) on science and technology - took place at the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute in Hinxton, Cambridge (UK) on Friday 24th August, 2007. Yourgenome.org was there to capture some self-organising scientific interaction in action.

After registering and adding their thoughts to the wiki, people came along with possible topics, demonstrations and ideas for discussion such as "Teaching computers to read" and "Death of University". The first session was for scheduling speakers and introducing all participants. With three-word introductions that ranged from "future consumer electronics" to "molecular biology evolution" the stage was set.
