Animations for DNA barcoding
This series of animations walks through the process of DNA barcoding using molecular biology techniques and bioinformatics.
DNA barcoding involves identifying organisms using a standardised section of DNA, known as a DNA barcode. The process involves extracting DNA, amplifying the DNA barcode using PCR, checking success using gel electrophoresis, sequencing the DNA barcode using capillary electrophoresis, and then using computational tools to identify the organism and analyse evolutionary relationships.
